Los Angeles Needs... A Monday Update

Thank you to everyone (bands/patrons/pehrspace) for their unbelievable kindness in letting us present last Friday's show. Pretty much no one (including perhaps even us) knew of the night's full details until about 7pm the night of the show and it still went on without a hitch. And all the artists sounded wonderful. Anyway, thanks again and we hope to be back soon. Actually soon will be 5/11 at Casey's.

Tonight, we say adios to April Monday residencies. Go out and see some great bands. Elsewhere, Avi Buffalo celebrates the release of the debut album (out tomorrow) at Fingerprints. Wayne Kramer and Tom Morello kick out the jammies at The Stronghold. Knight Rider, Baths, Wonder Wheel, and Wet Mango for Carnage at pehrspace. And the debuts of JP, Chrissie, and the Fairground Boys and Apples & Lemons at Bardot... Tuesday, Kisses celebrates the release of a new 7" at Origami. Big Whup, Uli & the Gringos, and others at La Cita. Jack Wilson, Jr., The Californian, Death Hymn Number 9 and others at Spaceland. Eugene & the 1914, boxViolet, and The Terrapin at The Bordello. Villains celebrate a new record at Cinespace Tuesdays. Whispertown 2000, Chasing Kings, All Wrong and the Plans Change, and others at the Silverlake Lounge. And Peter Kolovos, Metal Rouge, and others at Echo Curio... Wednesday, Blue Jungle, The Bellys, The Uzi Rash, and Old Blood at The Smell. Sister Crayon, Corridor, and Casper & the Cookies open for Aquaserge at Spaceland. The Union Line, Useless Keys, and Samuel Stewart open for Kav at the Silverlake Lounge. Alex B, King Cannibal, and Chillis at LET. Galanis, The Fictionist, and ER at Three Clubs. And Woolen opens for Craig Wedren at the Bootleg... Thursday, HoneyHoney finishes up their residency at the Hotel Cafe. ¡Socorro!, Monster, and SISU at the Silverlake Lounge. Learning Music, NYMPH, Superhumanoids, and Eli Rarey at Echo Curio. Dante vs. Zombies, Woah Hunx, Apes of Wrath at Spaceland. Signals, Dinowalrus, Foot Village, Tempo No Tempo, and Ezra Buchla at The Smell. Lemon Sun, Leopold & His Fiction, and Red Arrow Messenger at The Echo. Emily Wells, Timmy Straw at g'net. And Sarah Silverman signs her new book "The Bedwetter" at Book Soup. Halloween Swim Team, Chum Out, and Blue Tape Red Tape at The Cocaine.

Pictured above is once again a nod to HT Heartache for being the first one at pehrspace and the last one to leave (and somewhere in between there performing one heck of a show). We're also giving this week's "heart" to drummer Sam Johnson who played a great set at both pehr and the LA Times Festival of Books on Sunday with Shadow Shadow Shade.

Wayne Kramer (with Tom Morello, Billy Bragg, et al) - "Kick Out the James"

Jack Wilson, Jr. - "Little Brown Dog"

The Union Line - "Strangers"
