Los Angeles Needs... A Monday Update

Los Angeles Needs... A Monday Update
Ok, so after ten years you know the deal with pre-Coachella week. They're busy. But we also know you're trying to penny pinch until Friday (or even before then if you owe taxes), so here's the quick freebie slash cheapie-cheap version of this thing...

Monday residencies are free and loaded with great lineups. You also might want to catch a taping of Local Natives on the Craig Ferguson show. That's free too. Elsewhere, Sean Carnage is hosting his regular five buck chuck of bands at pehrspace with The Monolators, The Seizure, and others. And on the Westside for four bucks you can catch Go West Young Man, The Clouds, and others at the Air Conditioned Lounge... Tuesday, head back to Television City for a free taping of the adorable Charlyne Yi on Ferguson. Later, Wounded Lion, Residual Echoes, and others play Echo Curio for five bucks. Kelis, Hesta Prynn, The Constellations, and Cosmic Kids do Cinespace for $5 (with RSVP). And 60WK at Hype for free... Wednesday, if you can't afford the $20 cover of A Fine Frenzy at g'net why not see some future stars of the singer-songwriter scene like Liz Pappademas and Eliza Rickman at Echo Curio for $5 or Jamie Drake at Crane's for free? Or see a rare performance by Death Angel at the Roxy for free (with RSVP)... Thursday, didn't/can't get your tickets for She & Him at the Glass House or Pavement at the Fox or The Specials at Club Nokia? Well, some reasonably-priced alternatives are Autolux at Detroit for $10 (a bargain considering they've played Coachella and will be opening for Atoms For Peace this weekend). The Victorians, The Secret 6, and The Steelwells at Alex's for $5. Jake La Botz's farewell show (he's moving to New Orleans) at the Redwood for $5. Jubilee Singers and others at Sync (donation). Ezra Buchla, I.E., Black Church, and others at Echo Curio for $5. And, of course, We Are the World who continues their residency at The Echo for a price far too small for their magnificence.
