Happy April. Lots of big shows this weekend. Here are some quick highlights...

Captain Ahab celebrates the release of their fantastic new record The End of Irony (out next week on Deatbomb Arc). Breakestra and Fitz and the Tantrums do the ever prestigious Natural History Museum gig. Elsewhere, Torches in Trees celebrate the release of their new EP "Carnivora" at The Echo with Tremellow. Daniel Ahearn, Laura Gibson and others at Echo Curio... Origami Vinyl celebrates 1 year of eating up our entire savings account with Summer Darling, Twilight Sleep, Kissing Cousins, Future Ghost, and Tricky Sizzler (2pm). Later, Kenan Bell celebrates the release of his new record Until the Future at Spaceland. Bell Gardens releases their fantastic new record at the Bootleg. Kelly Dalton celebrates the release of his new record Everything Must Go at the Hotel Cafe. Another FMLY Ride around Los Angeles. Lebowski Fest returns. As does Kevin & Bean's April Foolishness at the Gibson. Paid Dues at the NOS Center. And Paul Verhoeven is signing his new book Jesus of Nazareth at Book Soup.. Sunday, we're helping with a show at Dakota Live with Useless Keys, boxViolet, Ovideo, and Sing Orpheus (The Nightbirds canceled). Elsewhere, you might want to see a very special performance by two of our longtime favorites Dave Alvin and Tom Russell at McCabe's. Also, Nellie McKay does a makeup show at Echoplex. Memory, Fangs, and others at Spaceland. Bad Religion, Vandals, and others at the House of Blues. And Modern Time Machines, Wrong Way Driver, and others at Silver Factory.
