Los Angeles Needs... A Monday Update

Los Angeles Needs... A Monday Update
So x-rays are negative, but boy do we feel like wusses being pushed around like that on Friday at The Smell (seen above) for a solid punk lineup of Okie Dokie, NASA Space Universe, God Equals Genocide, Sheeep, and Teen Beer. Things were much more mild-mannered last night at the club for the legend that is Calvin Johnson, but the damage had already been done (we were limping around like Hines Ward in the red zone). By the way, we narrowly lost the spread and the score by one touchdown but still made a nice chunk of change on a "ridiculous" side bet that Arizona would get a safety so we broke even (mostly). Anyway, we've pretty much healed in time for all the February happenings...

Residencies (multi-week's) this month include: Miranda Lee Richards, Alex & Sam, The Holloys, The Soft Pack, Local Natives, Free Moral Agents/Warpaint, Aushua, boxViolet, Le Switch, Patria Jacobs, Amie Miriello, Jon Brion/Dave Palmer, Austin Hartley-Leonard, Oren Lavie...

Release Shows: The Bird and the Bee, Nico Vega, Lemon Sun, Fol Chen, Ben Lee, Anya Marina, Chris Pierce, The Idyllists, Mishka, The Sleepover Disaster, Axel, The 454's...

Big shows: Elaine Layabout's Hella Hipster Hoedown (2/6), The Grammys (2/8), Love Groove (2/14), Lovers & Strangers (2/14), Lucent L'amour (2/14), Arthur Russell Tribute Night (2/22), Gimme A Steak (2/27)...

We're presenting our first show of the year on 2/18 at Mr. T's Bowl with Halloween Swim Team, Monstro, Cobra Lilies, Featherbeard, and Trick Tracy. And co-sponsoring a Friday the 13th night with L.A. Record at the Vermont. Details in a sec.

Looks like a good month.
