So tonight's a biggie. We were asked by the fine folks at How To Be A Microwave to help out with a show at the Vermont House. If you've never been, The Vermont is a wonderful old house on S. Vermont that hosts some of the best DIY shows this city has ever conceived. Crystal Antlers, The Underground Railroad to Candyland, Abe Vigoda, Wallpaper, Japanther, and Halloween Swim Team (who recently celebrated the release of their new album there on New Year's Eve) are just a few of the shows you might have missed over the years. The performance area (a second story window nook of a stage that perches above a steep stairwell) is ridiculously tiny for most of these bands, obviously making it all the more punk when you fall down the stairs during times of chaos (like we have, numerous times). We gave up long ago trying to take photos in there but Shanty Cheryl has some great ones from the URTC we both went to. Anyway, it's an awesome house with awesome people behind it all and tonight's lineup is too good for any of us. The show is being co-presented by L.A. Record, How To Be a Microwave, Say Cheese and Die!, and us. Hope to see you there.
