Los Angeles Needs... A Monday Update

Los Angeles Needs... A Monday Update
Congrats to Divisadero and Marvelous Toy for their phenomenal release show on Friday. That was one of the best shows we've ever been apart of and we're lucky to have been able to squeeze into that very crowded room. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it to the show and be sure to pick up their records at upcoming shows. Photos from the lovely evening are up... Later that night, Castledoor hosted their own release show for their new video for "Dumpster Diving" and by the look of all the sweaty, elated young people pouring out of the Lyric Hyperion at 1am, it seemed like a huge success as well. If you missed it, you can still check out the new video in all its hi-def beauty at YouTube and Vimeo.

So it will be a tough call with tonight's residency nights. Choose wisely. Elsewhere, Bill Frisell at g'net. Pizza!, Caledera Lakes, The Monolators and others at pehrspace. And The Raconteurs have a few nights at the Greek with The Kills... Cold War Kids do an in-store at Fingerprints on Tuesday. Similarly, The Pussycat Dolls do an in-store at Virgin Megastore in Hollywood. The Bird and the Bee, Electrocute, Willoughby, and others at Spaceland. Seasons, ExitMusic, Cobra Lilies, and The Hectors at The Bordello. Sea Wolf opens for Okkervil River at the Music Box. And J*DaVeY opens for Little Jackie at the Roxy... Amnion residency continues on Wednesday. Cold War Kids at the Music Box. Juliette Commagere and Obi Best at Club NME. The Submarines open for Brazilian Girls at The Wiltern. And War Tapes celebrates the release of their new self-titled EP at Boardner's with Repeater... Thursday, Pop Levi does in-store at Amoeba. Megapuss, The Entrance Band, and Little Joy at the Troubadour. Lion of Panjshir finished up their residency at Tangier with Mia Doi Todd and others. And Lenka celebrates her new album at the Hotel Cafe.

In other news: Buzz Bands is back... It's Skot's (400 Blows) b-day on Wednesday. Also, happy belated birthday to Lauren Dukoff... Azure Ray reunite for a show at the Troubadour on 11/30...
