Los Angeles Needs... A Monday Update

We're deep in the heart of January 2008. Lots to do this week...

Miss Derringer has a show a show at Viper tonight before heading out on a west coast jaunt. Also, Captain Ahab at pehrspace, Schuyler Fisk at the Hotel Cafe, and of course the massive monday residencies. We'd guess an even larger crowd than last week will form at Spaceland for tonight's crazy lineup. We may stop by even though we don't nearly have enough of a strike beard to blend in with the crowd... Death to Anders celebrates the release of their new album Fictitious Business at Let's Independent on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Harry Nilsson gets a big tribute over at Bordello, Dave Palmer sings love songs over Largo, The Hectors/You Me & Iowa play a free show at the Silverlake Lounge, and David Sedaris begins his "Black Box Readings" at Macgowan Little Theater at UCLA... On Wednesday, Dusty Rhodes and the River Band plays a rare east side show at The Echo and The Breakups and Hello Dragon lead an impressive crew at the Silverlake Lounge... Thursday, clear your schedules for the long-awaited return of Cornelius. Otherwise, Priscilla Ahn plays the Hotel Cafe, Lupe Fiasco at the House of Blues, and ATE back at Spaceland.
