We were kind of asleep this week so sorry if we didn't see much but congratulations to Division Day and Dusty Rhodes on their CD releases.
If you simply cannot make it to T's tonight we certainly understand since 400 Blows make their triumphant return (with new drummer Kevin Fitzgerald) at Safari Sam's; Metric and Crystal Castles are playing at the Music Box; No Age, Silver Daggers, and Pocahaunted rock The Smell; and Whiskey Biscuit, War Children, and Bolero get psychedelic at Spaceland. Not to mention, you'd probably want to rest up before the last of the summer festivals this weekend with the Eagle Rock Music Festival and Detour. We'll be at Eagle Rock, not just because we've been asked to introduce one of the bands, but because the lineup is what we in the crunk community like to call badonkadonkers. Of note, The Mormons finally get to play a festival they've been invited to (after crashing last year's festival along with every other one since 1997) but they'll probably be still parading their mobile unit through the festival (and most likely Detour as well). Also of note, The Pity Party (currently gracing the cover of LA Record) are playing both festivals. So whichever festival you decide on, you'll be seeing one of the best bands on either bill... Also, on Saturday, Ulrich Schnauss leads an impressive ambient/electronic/shoegazy lineup with Manual and Fleeting Joys and over at Little Radio, Har Mar and Fat Lip join forces... And on Sunday, there's a benefit for little Izabel Vega who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Spongebob and The Hi-Seas (featuring Tom Kenny), I Make This Sound, The Parson Red Heads' Evan Way, Le Switch's Aaron Kyle, The Monolators, The Breakups, and The Hectors will all perform. Please come out and support if you can (starts early)...
Back to sleep we go...
