Los Angeles Needs... An October Update

Oh, October. That time of year when leaves turn brown in every part of the world except our own hometown -- unless there's a brush fire. It's also the beginning of the winding down of the year, the ever-important 4th quarter, and an onslaught of big events that will close out 2007...

Gemma Hayes, Castledoor, Aushua, Mighty Six Ninety, Oliver Future, Greg Laswell, The Nixes, The Mulhollands, Limbeck, and We Are Lions are just a few of the many residencies this month. For our old dear friends Castledoor, however, this is their third free residency this year, which might be a record of some sort. But, basically, if you miss it this time the bandwagon isn't stopping anymore to pick you up... Division Day and Dusty Rhodes and the River Band celebrate CD release shows this week... A.F.I. and She Wants Revenge do separate shows at the Troubadour to show they're about all about the people... His royal sadness Morrissey begins his 10-date affair at the Palladium. We'll be stopping by at least one show this month just so we can get some of that infamous Palladium security molestification, which we've missed since they've been in renovation mode for the better part of the century... Great Northern is also doing a last-minute early slot at the Silver Lake Lounge on 10/3 before heading out to the east coast for some dates with Robbers on High Street.

Bands still looking for musicians: The Breakups (drummer), Space Mtn (guitarist), Tenlons Fort (various musicians), Amnion (various musicians), HT Heartache (vocoderist).

Oh yeah, thanks to those who were able to come out yesterday. We love getting to eat and talk with so many good people. And, oh, the gossip... shhh.
