Los Angeles Needs... A Monday Update
First of all, thanks to everyone for coming out to support Friday's show at T's. The bands were fantastic. Be sure to check out I Make This Sound's Monday residency this month at The Bordello. Also, The Monolators have one show tomorrow back at T's for The Mormons 9th Anniversary show before leaving for the good ol' south for their first-ever shows in that area. So if you're anywhere in the vicinity of Tennessee or Georgia go see them.

Secondly, for anyone who was at our small summer soire on Saturday we thank you. We'll be doing more of those in the near future as soon as we recuperate from trying to do our best Robert Irvine imitation. A few photos up on Flickr.

Monday residencies begin tonight. We'll be stopping by everywhere to buy any band merch we don't already have numerous quantities of... It might get very crowded tomorrow at the Hotel Cafe so do yourself a favor and get there early for The Sweet Hurt (who will be playing in our favorite duo configuration), then you can ooh-ahh for Fionn Regan and Ferraby Lionheart. Speaking Senor Lionheart, there's a nice interview with him in today's edition of LAist. Speaking of nice interviews, The One AM Radio recently talked about how much we mystify him. The feeling's mutual, Mr. Hirway. Speaking of mutual feelings, miss Karen O. also explains her recent move to Los Angeles as well and now that this has happened we can now promote the Yeah Yeah Yeahs new EP Is Is and their show at the Mayan on 8/22... IPO continues this week with perhaps its best lineups spearheaded by appearances by festival veterans The Trainwrecks and Io Perry... Boom Bip on GTFU tonight... Tickets for Regina Spektor's 10/30 show at the Wiltern go on sale this Saturday but presale begins Wednesday if you're in the know... The brand new state-of-the-art 7000+ capacity Nokia Theatre just announced its inaugural concerts featuring two nights with The Eagles and The Dixie Chicks. Our proposal to have an la-underground event for its launch party apparently fell through the cracks. We apologize to our friends Anal Cunt and Vomit Bomb but scene politics seem to be in full effect with this one... Driving down the boulevard this morning and saw our ex-wife Michelle Pfeiffer getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She still owes us alimony. We got kids to feed.
Comments:
warpaint, moonpools, leather hymann, etc. etc. etc. thanks for all the new music!!!

This one guy I know says Regina Spektor is already too popular for him to go see live anymore... This is the same guy that just a year ago would have flown out to LA from Philly if he had to just to see her live... but now she's gone the way of Whitestripes and System of a Down, and lord knows we're too cool for that...

Apparently I didn't get an invite to your party. What the hell!?! I hate you.
