While Chan's "Check Yo Ponytail" and Aoki's "Cinespace Tuesdays" continue to battle it out to see which of their clubs is more hip every Tuesday, for the last year we've been more inclined to be more local for Pousch's "Pull Your Pants Up, It's Tuesday Night" down in Long Beach. Hence, an easy 20-minute drive down the 710 (10 minutes if you know what you're doing) to the good ol' Prospector has been one of our favorite things to do every occassional Tuesday since it began earlier this year. Kevin Pousch from the wonderful band Fielding books the nights and does so like a champ. It's not very often where you see the likes of Richard Swift, Everybody Else, Hello Stranger, Ferraby Lionheart, and Division Day in a room where most people have no idea how good these bands are (or how big they're going to be). So if you're up for a little drive down the way, hit up the Prospector. It may be less hip than Hollywood, but at least you won't see Lindsay Lohan or Benji Madden behind turntables.
Pull Your Pants Up, It's Tuesday Night occurs every first and last Tuesday of the month.
