Los Angeles Loves... Marathon Live

Los Angeles Loves... Marathon Live
We were just asked to help with Wednesday's show at Marathon Live which only adds to the onslaught of Facebook event invites you are now about to receive this month as we are presenting/co-presenting a "Who do we think we are, Goldenvoice?" six shows this month -- five of which came in requests this past week. Anyway, we love shows. You love shows. And we all love free shows, most of all at Marathon Live, so here go again.

Alpine Decline is a work of art indie rock duo that really should be commanding bigger audiences any second now. We absolutely love "The Ghost" (off their 2010 debut album available here.) Silver Phial do 70's country-tinged rock the way The Stone Poneys did way back when with Linda Ronstadt and that purdy voice of hers. And Palace Walls was quite a pleasant surprise at their debut show with us a few months back, giving a midnight crowd a heavy-slash-healthy dose of psych-rock wake-up pills.

Come on out and enjoy a night out on Vine and Santa Monica with us (and the lovely ladies of the night that work that corner.) We love you, June.

Los Angeles Loves... A Night at Casey's

Los Angeles Loves... A Night at Casey's
Our only show in May should be a fun one as the loveable Seasons boys have asked us to help with night one of their Friday residency at Casey's. A lot has changed since our first show with them some three years ago. That residency was back at our beloved Mr. T's Bowl when the young upstart Highland Park band was just getting their sea legs under them. Now, the band has released quite a collection of seasonal EP's and are looking to keep the momentum going with a residency at one of downtown's most casual pubs, Casey's. Joining them will be Count Fleet who recently released their debut EP. By no coincidence, both the band's recent releases were recorded with Raymond Richards (Local Natives, The Parson Red Heads) at Red Rockets Glare so we figure this very well might be an RRG alumni night. This coupled with the fact that it's a free show at one of LA's most prized pub & grubs, your Friday should already be in the books. Hope to see you there.
