It's been a few years since the honor of presenting a night in Long Beach was bestowed upon us and we couldn't be more happy to bring some friends out to the greatness that is The Prospector. If you or someone you know live within a 150 mile radius of this fine establishment, we highly recommend moving your beautiful behinds in the direction of Juniper & 7th on Tuesday for a couple reasons: Filet Mignon is the Tuesday special and four of the best bands on the planet are playing for five bucks.
boxViolet recently released their new EP "Audition" and their last few shows have all of a sudden started to make people take notice. Songs on the new EP are huge soaring indie rock anthems, but that new track "South" they debuted a few months back is about as good a cure for erectile dysfunction as you're going to get... Alpine Decline features two fourths of the dearly beloved slash dearly departed Mezzanine Owls. If you never saw the Owls, there's no use crying over spilled milk, especially since Alpine Decline were kind of enough to put out two fantastic records in a few months to help ease the pain. Both their self-titled debut EP and full-length Visualizations can be obtained via mouse-button... Pageants' debut show was a brilliant display of indie rock nonchalance. You know, those bands that seemingly yawn through every one of their great songs as if genius was a byproduct of breathing. Potential is huge for this one. Just ask Bobb Bruno... We half-jokingly tweeted this a few years ago about the young, talented Chaidez siblings as a subtle hint of things to come. Little did we know then that it would not only come in the form of the delightful Kitten, but also in the fantastic new brother-sister electro duo Junk. Both will be hitting SXSW for showcases this year so do make highlight marks on your grids for these two.
This lineup is almost as beautiful as the city in which it is being presented. Long Beach, we come for you on Tuesday...
